Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Estimator based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full time permanent basis.

Summary of the Construction Estimator role

Salary: £60,000
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday Thursday 8.30am-5pm, Friday 8.30am-4.30pm

Responsibilities of the Construction Estimator

  • Prepare cost estimates, tender pricing and bid submissions
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Obtain and analyse quotations
  • Quantity take-offs and cost analysis
  • Highlight potential risks
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Support project handovers

Requirements for a successful Construction Estimator

  • Previous experience in estimating within commercial/industrial construction
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Competence in interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong numerical ability alongside analytical and communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating software
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
